Need something fast, easy, and inexpensive yet looks beautiful? Or a nice spring bouquet for Easter brunch? This may be the project that fits your needs. I have two different options for you. ..

option one
Find your local floral shop or grocery store that has great flowers (I tend to like Trader Joe’s; they seem to have everything you need). I got these Calla Lilies at Sequoia Floral for $10.50. Then I bought this simple vase again at Sequoia Floral for $2.95 along with the Jute Ribbon (40x10yds) for $8.49. On the way home, I ran by Beverly’s Fabrics and picked up the Round Pearl Pins (10 for $0.99). Now, you have all of your supplies and you’re ready to start. First take the Jute Ribbon and wrap it around you bouquet about 2-3 times making sure it’s tight. Then push your pins in about one every 1/2 centimeter. My pins were longer than the diameter of the bouquet, so I had to use wire cutters to cut off the sharp ends sticking out the back (FYI: make sure you do this in a place where you can easily find the sharp ends that you cut off. Mine went flying everywhere and took crawling on my hands and knees to find them!) Once your pins are in, cut the ends of the flowers so they last longer and place in your simple vase. Then there you have your beautiful bouquet!

option two:
Follow all of the directions in options one except place the bouquet in a mason jar (I got mine at Beverly’s Fabrics for $1.49) and sprinkle some dried lavender in the water before adding the bouquet. You usually can find the dried lavender at any flower supply shop or online. I got mine at Sequoia Floral for ½ lb for $7.95. You can also try Lavender Bee Farm.

supplies
– calla lilies or your desired flower
– jute ribbon (you usually can get at any fabric store. I got mine at Sequoia Floral)
– vase or mason jar (you can get at any fabric/flower supply store or just use on that you have sitting around. Both of these options were really inexpensive. I got the vase at Sequoia Floral for $2.95 and the Mason Jar at Beverly’s Fabrics for $1.49)
– round pearl pins (you can get at most fabric shops in the wedding/bridal section. I found mine at Beverly’s Fabrics for 10 for $0.99)
– dried lavender – optional (I found mine again at Sequoia Floral. You can usually find this at your local floral supply store or online. You might try Lavender Bee Farm.

Maybe it’s just from my childhood memories in the garden, and remembering the first sign of spring, but nothing symbolizes spring more to me than seeing beautiful fresh daffodils. Whether you’re having a spring wedding with a budget, or just want to add a little something to your simple bouquet, here’s a quick and easy idea. Whatever it’s for, I’m sure it will bring joy to the occasion.

supplies
daffodils (I got mine at Trader Joe’s for $1.59, I used three bundles. Better yet, get from your garden.)
ribbon (I used a simple, thin, white ribbon that I got a Michaels, but you can get at any craft supply store.)
burlap garland (I got at Michaels but you should be able to get at any craft/supply store.)

directions
Get your daffodils a day ahead, and place them in a vase in a spot with lots of light, to allow them to fully open. Then once you have all of your supplies, simply fold the garland from both edges (top and bottom) to meet in the middle, and create a nice crease on both the top and bottom edges. Next, either tie the garland into a knot (if you want the more organic look) or cut one side of the garland to the desired length, and wrap around and fold over the last section so you have a nice crease. Then hot glue the crease to the wrapped piece. Next, just tie the thin ribbon around the bouquet, and end with a nice bow. Here you have a very organic looking spring bouquet. Simply beautiful!

roses
dried lavender (I found mine again at Sequoia Floral. You can usually find this at your local floral supply store or online. You might try Lavender Bee Farm.)
8” cylinder glass vase (you can get at any fabric/flower supply store or just use on that you have sitting around. I got mine at Sequoia Floral for $2.95.
7.75” cylinder glass vase (you can get at any fabric/flower supply store or just use on that you have sitting around. I got mine at Sequoia Floral for $2.95.

directions
First start by stripping the roses of their leaves and cut to the desired length. Next place the 7.75” cylinder vase inside the 8” cylinder vase already filled with water. Then, simply pour the lavender into the space between both vases and evenly spread out around the diameter so the lavender is the same level around the entire vase. Lastly place the roses into the 7.75” vase and you’re done. Quick, simple, and beautiful as can be! Enjoy!

Are you planning, or helping plan, a small wedding without a wedding party or ring bearer? Here’s a simple idea incorporating the wedding bouquet and rings.

First, strip the leaves and thorns off each rose stem so you have a nice smooth clean bouquet. Then take the Jute Ribbon and wrap it around your bouquet about 3-5 times making sure it’s tight. Fold the last edge over about 1 centimeter so you have a clean crease, and then wrap the Raw Silk Ribbon around the bouquet, just like the Jute, but this time about 8-10 times so you have a tight circumference. Next, fold the end of the Raw Silk Ribbon over slightly to make a nice crease and push your 6-10 pins all the way though (you may need more pins depending on how thick your bouquet is). My pins were longer than the diameter of the bouquet, so I had to use wire cutters to cut off the sharp ends sticking out the back. You can also cut the ends off prior to placing the pins in the bouquet. (FYI: make sure you do this in a place where you can easily find the sharp ends that you cut off. Mine went flying everywhere and took crawling on my hands and knees to find them!) Once your pins are in, cut the ends of the stems so they’re a nice even length. Then, lastly, tie a thin white ribbon in the middle of your bouquet into a tight knot, leaving about 3-4 inches length leftover on each side. Take your rings, and slip the ribbon from one side through the rings and tie off in a tight bow. Make sure it’s a tight bow so your rings don’t get lost, and also not a knot so you can easily take them off at the appropriate time. There you have your beautiful wedding bouquet and ring holder. Good luck and enjoy!
